my first offical westlife fic I remeber the time m/f

Chapter 1 8th August 1997 Meeting new friends.

It's a warm and sunny day in County Sligo and everyone in the gang is looking forward to their summer break from school,college and university,

the group of friends are Grace and Shane Filan,Sarah,Kian and Creena Egan,Mark,Lindsay,Barry and Colin Feehily,Claire,Jake,Erin and Bronwyn Watson.

This group of friends all attended play school,nursery,primary school and senior school,some even went to college and university together,

Claire, Jake,Grace,Shane and Sarah are the oldest of the gang and have known each other since they were babies.

Kian,Mark,Lindsay,Creena,Erin and Bronwyn have all gone through their school lives together,and have also known each since they were babies,
Barry and Colin are the youngest of the gang and are still in senior school.

Shane,Mark,Kian,Jake,Barry,Colin,Grace,Lindsay,Bronwyn and Erin are in Dublin for the day, the lads play for a local football team called Sligo Rovers and are playing a friendly match against Dublin Dragons,so the girls have gone along to cheer them on and also to do some shopping.

Claire is living and studying at university in Dublin she's waiting for her friend Sarah to arrive so that they can go shopping,she has no idea about the football match that her friends and sisters and brother are going to.

Sarah had just arrived in Dublin and was now heading over to the university to meet Claire,the girls went for a coffee in the uni cafe before hitting the shops.

A short while later the girls finished their coffees and were getting ready to hit the city centre,when Claire's mobile beeped in her bag.

Claire then pulled her phone out of her bag and saw that she had a text from Ronan,she then smiled and read the text.

The text read: Hey Beautiful wht u doing nw?.I hope tht u haven't 4rgotten abt my big game 2nite. Babe i'm missing u like crazy & I wish u were in my arms nw. I love u so much sexy & I can't wait 2 c u 2nite,it's been hell 4r me not being able 2 c u 4r the last mnth. But I knw u've been busy with uni & wrk. Have fun shopping if tht's wht ur doing & I'll see u l8ter Babydoll. All of my love nw & 4rever babe ur cuddle bear Pooh bear xx.

Sarah looked at Claire and saw the smile on her face,and then said "so hun i guess that was Ro who text,for you to have a big smile on your face?."

Claire then said "yes Sarah of course it was Ro who text me,and he's the only person who can get me to smile like this."

Claire then sent Ronan a text back,

the text read:Hey Babe I'm abt 2 take Sarah shopping. How did u knw tht i wud be going shopping? & no I haven't 4rgotten tht u make ur professional debut 2nite. I wouldn't miss ur big game,Babe I'm also missing u like crazy & I wish I was with u nw. I love u so much as well sexy & I'll c u in a couple of hours. Babe I knw it's been hell 4r u not being able to c me 4r the last mnth,cos it's been hell for me 2 not being able 2 c u 4r a mnth. Babe we don't have to worry abt me being at uni or wrk,as 4rm 2day I'm off 4r a wk so I'm planning on spending it with u.I'll c u in abt 2 hrs Pooh bear. All of my love nw & 4rever babe ur princess Tink xx.

The girls then left the coffee shop and went into the city centre,Claire then took Sarah into some of her favourite shops before she dragged Sarah into the expensive shops as she knew that Sarah was going out for a posh meal with her boyfriend of 6 years that night,

Claire also knew that Finbarr was planning on proposing to Sarah at the meal but she'd been sworn to secrecy.

The girls were in Wallace Claire noticed Sarah looking at a gold dress with a pink hand knitted cloak,
so she walked over to her friend and said "hun go try the dress on,and then come back out and let me see you in it,and i bet you'll look gorgeous in that dress."

Claire then said "but then you always look gorgeous hun whatever you're wearing,and you know it."

Sarah picked up the dress and looked at Claire and said "yeah it's a nice dress hun,and i'll go and try it on just to shut you up,"

Sarah then said "but it's not like i'm gonna buy it cos it's so expensive just like everything else in here,it's all well out of my price range."

Sarah then sighed and said "Claire i can't understand why you dragged me in here in the first place,or in any of the other expensive stores that you've taken me into."

Claire then smiled and said "ah just shut up hun, and get your arse in that changing room and try that dress on."

Claire then said "then shout me when your changed so that i can come, and see what the dress looks like on you,"

Claire then said "and hun don't worry about why i brought you in here or the other stores."

Claire then said "Sarah now just go and try that dress on will you?,cos i can't wait to see what it looks like on you."

Sarah then picked up the dress and the cloak and made her way towards the changing rooms,and then stopped and turned to look at Claire and gave her a puzzled look,
she couldn't work out what her friend was upto by dragging her into all the expensive shops, and making her try clothes on that she couldn't afford.

Meanwhile on the other side of the city the rest of the gang were now at the football ground,the lads had gone into the changing rooms to get changed and prepare for the match,
just then Grace noticed 2 lads walk into the ground and head in the direction of the changing rooms.

Grace then said to herself "oh my god the short blond is gorgeous i wonder what his name is,i must try and talk to him at some point before we leave to go and do some shopping and before we all return to Sligo,cos i might never get the chance to speak to him or even seen him again."

Erin,Bronwyn,Lindsay and Creena had heard every word that Grace had said and looked at her with puzzled expressions,and then in unison said "hey Grace what short blond guy are you on about?,cos i can't see any guys walking around,and hun do you realize that talking to yourself is a sign of madness?."

Grace then said "girls 2 blond haired lads came into the ground a few minutes ago and walked in the direction of the changing rooms,the shorter one of the 2 is gorgeous and he has a nice arse as well,how did you 2 not see them?,and i thought i'd said it quietly enough so no one else would hear but obviously you 2 did hear what i said."

Erin,Bronwyn,Lindsay and Creena then started laughing and then in unison said "Grace now we know why you really came to this game,just so you could check out any cute guys,"

Erin then said " Grace that is typical of you because you always check out the cute guys where ever we go,but your even worse when your out with Claire or so we've been told."

Before Grace had a chance to say anything to Creena and Erin the 2 teams came out of the tunnel and onto the pitch,

the short blond haired guy turned around and saw Grace and the others and smiled at them.
he then walked over to Grace and slipped a folded piece of paper into her hand and then walked away without saying anything.

Creena,Erin,Bronwyn and Lindsay all looked at Grace in shock and then in unison said "hey missy what did the cute short blond guy give you,before he walked away without saying a word to you?,"

Grace then said "i don't know what's on this bit of paper that he gave me,before he walked away without even telling me his name."

Grace then unfolded the piece of paper that Nicky had given her and read the note,the note read :Hi there gorgeous I saw you looking at me,when i came in with my friend and i think you're very sexy,wait for me here after the match and we'll go for a coffee and talk,see you later Nicky x.

Grace know knew the cute blond guy's name and she was a little surprised to learn he'd seen her looking at him,and she was even more surprised to know that he thought she was sexy,

the other 4 girls all wanted to know what the note said when they saw the big grin on Grace's face.

Meanwhile back in the city centre Sarah came out of the changing room,and shouted "Claire i'm ready now come over here and tell me what you think,"

Sarah then said "and be honest with me this time instead of saying it looks nice on me, when we both know some things don't suit me but that they would suit you better."

Claire then walked into the changing rooms and opened the cublicle door that Sarah was in,and was speechless for a few seconds

then she said "wow Sarah hunnie you look really amazing in that dress just like i knew you would,you look like a princess wearing such a beautiful dress."

Claire then said "Sarah hun i'm not upto anything at all and i promise you that,"

Claire then said "hun the reason why i've brought you in here today is because i've come into some money, and i didn't really know what to do with it,"

Claire then said "so i thought i'd get you here today and i'd treat you to a shopping trip and pamper session,after all you could do with one."

Sarah then went back into the cubicle and changed out of the dress and pulled on her jeans and shirt,and then came back out of the cublicle.

Sarah then looked at Claire and said "ok missy what are you really upto by dragging me in here,when you know i can't afford the things in here?,even though this dress is beautiful."

Claire then said "Sarah hun listen i'm not upto anything at all and i promise you that,there is a perfectly good reason why i've brought you in here today,"

Claire then said "Sarah like i've just told you i thought that i'd treat you to a shopping trip and a pamper session, as i know how stressed you've been with uni and work recently."

Claire then said "hun myself,Jake,Erin and Bronwyn have all inherited some money from our great grandmother,"

Claire then said "Sarah you know that she passed away in March a few days after Jake and i turned 20,"

Claire then said "well when her will was read a couple of days after the funeral, we were all surprised to learn she'd left us all some money."

Sarah looked at Claire in shock and then said "yeah hun i knew that your great gran had died in March, just after you and Jake turned 20,"

Sarah then said "hun but why are you telling me that she's left you all some money,and more importantly why are you planning on spending some of your inheritance on me?."

Claire smiled and said "hun my great nan left Jake and i £2.500 each in her will,the money was in envelopes marked with our names,"

Claire then said "hun she also left Erin and Bronwyn £1000.00 each and their inheritance was also in envelopes marked with their names,"

Claire then said "so i thought i'd treat you to something nice as i didn't really know what to do with £2.500."

Once again Sarah looked at Claire in a speechless shock but never said anything,

Claire then said "Sarah hun Jake and i also have a £20.000 trust fund account each that my grat gran set up for us when we were born,with the instruction that we couldn't have the money until we turned 20."

Claire then said "she again did the same thing for Erin and Bronwyn when they were born,and once again with the same instruction that they can't have the money until they are 20,so they have another 3 years to wait for their big money."

Sarah continued to look at Claire in speechless shock,she was now really unsure of what to say to her childhood friend.

Claire just laughed and then said "so now you see why i've brought you shopping today,"

Claire then said "and especially into these expensive stores is because i have this huge amount of money, and don't know what to do with it,"

Claire then said "hun what i'm gonna tell you now hun you've got to promise, that you won't tell Ro about this when you next see him."

Sarah soon regained her composure and said "Claire you know you can always tell me anything, and you know i never reveal what you've told me,"

Sarah then said "oh for goodness sake Claire we've known each other all our lives,and we've always told each other our secrets, and we've never told anyone else them so you know you can trust me."

Claire then said "yeah i know we have hun and we still do tell each other our secrets,but if Ro knew i'd told you this he'd go daft as he hates people knowing about his finances,"

Claire then said "hun in the last 4 months i've paid most of his student loan off for him,but as far as he knows or thinks he still owes £2000.00 on his student loan."

Claire then said "but really he only owes £70.00 on his student loan and i'll pay that off in full for him next week,"

Claire then said "oh and speaking of Ro did i tell you that one of the local professional rugby clubs in Cork had sent a scout out to his uni twice in a matter of months,and that the scout offered Ro a contract before he'd even graduated?."

Sarah then said "wow Claire hun how have you managed to keep that quiet from Ro, that you've been paying off his student loan for him?,"

Sarah then said "and no you never mentioned anything about a scout going to his uni,or about him being offered a contract before he graduated from uni."

Sarah then said "Claire did Ro take this professional rugby club's offer of a contract before he'd graduaated,or has he stuck to his choosen career path and gone into busniess analysis?,"

Sarah then said "hun if he hasn't taken up the offer of a professional rugby contract,then i'd say he was a bloody fool to turn down a contract to play professional rugby."

Sarah then said " when we both know how much he enjoys playing the game,just think hun in a few years Ro could be known all over the world."

Claire then said "well thankfully Sarah you don't have to call him a fool, because he accepted the professional club's offer of a contract,"

Claire then said "Sarah hun i've already thought about that,and it's a scarey thought, that my man could one day be known and recognised all over the world."

Claire then said "i've been able to keep it a secret from Ro that i've been paying his student loan off,"

Claire then said "because i set up a direct debit from my account for the uni to take out quite a large sum of money each month to repay Ro's student loan."

Claire then said "so when Ro goes to start paying it off he'll get a pleasnt surprise, and find out that he owes nothing at all,"

Claire then said "hun but i do need to get going down to Cork soon, because he's making his professional debut tonight and i don't want to miss that game,"

Claire then said "and besides i promised him i'd be there tonight for his big game,and then after the game he's taking me out but won't say where we are going."

The 2 girls then walked over to the counter Sarah still couldn't believe that Claire was spending some of her inheritance on her,

Claire gave her friend a smile and handed the clerk the basket full of clothes that her and Sarah had tried on,

the clerk then scanned the items and looked at Claire and said "that'll be £420.00 please miss,it looks like you've had a good day and have enjoyed spending your fella's money."

Claire then said "actually your wrong there i haven't spent my man's money and i never do spend his money,"

Claire then i'm treating a very good friend to something nice with the money that i've inherited from my great grand mother not that it's really any of your business,"

she then took out her purse and counted out the right amount of money all in £20.00 notes.

A few minutes later Claire and Sarah left the store with 4 plastic bags each,and went to the car park and got into Claire's car and they drove over to a luxury health spa,for their pamper session,

at the spa they both had full massages and all of the complimentary sessions,Claire had secretly booked Sarah in for a makeover and a new hair style.

While Sarah was in the beauty salon getting her hair and makeover done,Claire went and sat in the bar with a glass of mineral water,

she couldn't wait to see Sarah's transformation and she knew that Finbarr would be knocked for six when he saw her later that night.

Meanwhile on the other side of the city the football match was now under way,Sligo Rovers were trailing 2 -0 and had just been awarded a pentalty kick for a dangerous challenge on the edge of their own area,Shane stepped up to take the penalty and scored.

Creena,Erin,Lindsay,Bronwyn and Grace were all cheering the lads on,every so often Nicky would turn around and look at her,and would smile at the comments that they were making,soon the score was 2-2 thanks to Kian's goal from 18 yards out,this sent the girls wild at the score.

A few minutes later the ref blew the whistle for half time,Shane,Mark,Kian,Jake,Barry and Colin ran over to the girls,

Shane then said "so how do you lot think we're doing,and what do you think the final score will be?,"

Erin,Creena,Lindsay and Bronwyn then in unison said "honestly Shay you guys are doing great,and i think we'll beat them 4-2."

Grace hadn't been taking any notice of the conversation between her brother and her friends,she saw
Nicky walking over towards her,

so she moved away from the others and walked upto him,she then said "hey Nicky you guys are playing great,i think your going to beat our team 5 - 3."

Nicky laughed and said "yeah it's been a great first half i'm not sure if we'll beat your team,as they have some very good players,"

Nicky then said "so which of the lads on your team are you with if any?,"

Grace then laughed and said "Nicky none of the guys on my team are my boyfriend,the dark haired one with his back to us is my twin brother."

Nicky then gave her a cheeky wink and a cheeky smile,and then said "so your free and single or do you have a boyfriend back in Sligo?,"

Nicky then said "cos if you don't already have a boyfriend i'd really like to take the chance to get to know you better,and to maybe even ask you out."

Grace then said "Nicky i'm free and single and have been for 2 years,the lads over there with the girls are my brother Shane,our friends Kian,Mark,Jake,Barry and Colin"

Grace then said "and by the way Nicky my name is Grace,Barry and Colin are Mark's younger brothers,Jake is the older brother of the 2 girls who are stood next to my brother their names are Erin and Bronwyn.

Grace then said "the blonde girl stood in between Kian and Mark is Creena,she is Kian's sister and Mark's girlfriend,"

Grace then said "Lindsay is Mark's twin sister,Erin and Bronwyn are twins,Erin is dating Kian and Bronwyn is dating my brother,"

Grace then said "there are 2 other girls who are usually with us and their names are Claire and Sarah."

Nicky then said "wow that's a big group of friends and how are the other 2 girls connected to you lot?,"

Grace then said "Claire is the twin sister of Jake and they are the older siblings of Bronwyn and Erin,"

Grace then said "Sarah is the older sister of Kian and Creena, and Claire,Jake,Erin and Bronwyn are Mark,Lindsay,Barry and Colin's cousins."

Nicky then said "wow that certainly is one very big group of friends,i guess most of you have known each other since you were small?,"

Grace then said "yeah we've all grown up together and we've all known each other since we were babies and have always been friends."

Nicky then said "so what's the age order of this huge group of friends,and where are Claire and Sarah today for them not to be with you all,like they normally are?,"

Grace then said "the age order goes Claire and Jake they are 20,me,Shane and Sarah we're 18,Kian,Creena,Mark, Lindsay,Erin and Bronwyn are 17,Barry is 13 and lastly Colin is 11."

Grace then said "and in answer to your other question Claire is probably on her way down to Cork to spend the week with her boyfriend of 4 years,"

Grace then said "or she might already be in Cork now i can't remember what time she said she was leaving,and Sarah's probably in Sligo working in one of the local pubs."

A few minutes later the rest of the 2 teams made their way back onto the pitch,

Bryan looked over at Nicky and said "oi Nico leave your girlfriend alone,and get your arse back on the pitch,so that we can start the 2nd half,"

Nicky then looked at Grace and said "i've got to go but wait here for me after the game."

Meanwhile over in Cork Ronan was lazing around at home,he had a couple of hours free before he made his professional debut,

he was upstairs in his and Claire's room getting his rugby kit ready for the big match,and trying to find where he'd put the tickets for the concert he was taking Claire to that night.

Just then he heard a knock at the door and shouted "come in the door is open,"

the door opened and his sister Heather came in and sat down on bed,

Heather then said "so bro are you nervous about your big game tonight and is Claire coming down for it?,"

Ronan then looked at his sister and said "yes to both your questions,but i still can't believe that you talked me into booking the tickets for the boyzone concert,"

Ronan then said "sis are you sure that Claire likes them?,i want tonight to be perfect for her."

Ronan then said " because i've finally decided to propose and i'm gonna do it at the concert."

Heather then said "wow Ro what's finally made you decide to propose to Claire tonight after being togther for almost 5 years?,"

Heather then said "and yes i'm sure that Claire likes boyzone,we went to see them in concert twice last year,"

Heather then "cos she'd booked tickets for her sister's birthday present,do you have the ring yet?."

Ronan smiled and said "sis i've been thinking of proposing for a while now,and yes i have already got the ring,"

Ronan then said "it's an emmerald and diamond heart 18 ct gold ring,and it's engraved with our initials and our anniversary date,"

Ronan then said " i just hope i've got the right size,and that she'll say yes cos she's the only girl i've ever loved and ever will love."

Ronan then said " i bought it on Valentine's day as i was going to propose then,but Claire had to work Valentine's day night."

Ronan then said " and now that you mention it, i do remember the 4 of you going to see boyzone last year,"

Ronan then said "do you know what Claire's favourite boyzone song is?."

Heather then said "yeah i know what Claire's favourite boyzone song is but why do you want to know?,"

Heather then said "bro before i tell you what her favourite boyzone songs are, i want to see the ring and then i'll tell you Claire's favourite boyzone songs,"

Heather then said "honestly bro i'm pleased you've finally decided to propose,it's taken you long enough."

Ronan then said "i want to know what her favourite boyzone song is,because our tickets are in the very front row near the stage,"

Ronan then said "and i want to do the proposal when they sing her favourite song of their's,"
he then walked over to the wardrobe and took a small red velvet box out from under a pile of sweatshirts and jackets on the top shelf.

Ronan then opened the box to reveal a gold ring with an emmerald heart in the middle of the band and 3 diamonds on each side of the heart,

Heather then said "oh my god Ro that's beautiful and i'm sure Claire will say yes straight away to marrying you,her favourite boyzone songs are key to my life and isn't it a wonder."

Meanwhile back in Dublin the match came to and end the final score was 3-3,the teams were now making their way of the pitch and heading to the dressing rooms,

Nicky stopped next to Grace and wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her softly,and then said "i'll be 10 minutes,so don't go anywhere.

Over at the spa Sarah walked into the bar after her makeover and new hairstyle and stood in front of Claire,

Claire looked up and was speechless for a few minutes and then said " aww wow hunnie you look a million dollars and your hair style suits you,"

Claire then said "hun your gonna knock Finbarr for six when he sees you later."

Claire then said "hun this pamper session has done you the world of good,and this day has certainly been worth the money i've spent,"

Claire then said "and don't you dare even suggest paying me back because like i've already told you it was my treat,and i'm so pleased to see you looking so relaxed."

Sarah then said "Claire hun thank you for such a special day,i've really enjoyed today but you need to let me return this treat fro you,"

Sarah then said "once we both graduate from uni and i'm earning decent money,there's something i want to ask you before you go down to Ro."

Sarah then said "hun what i want to ask you is this, will you and Ro be the god parents to my baby?."

Claire then said "hun it's been my pleasure to treat you to such a lovely day,pardon me but what did you just say and am i hearing things?,"

Sarah just laughed and said "no Claire your not hearing things at all,i've just asked you and Ro to be my baby's god parents,"

Sarah then said "Claire i'm 4 months today, and haven't told Fin yet."

Claire then said "wow hunnie we'd be honoured to be your baby's god parents,do you know what the sex is yet?,"

Sarah then said "nope i don't want to know the sex until it's born,and thank you for agreeing to you and Ro being it's god parents."

Claire then said "well in that case hun today's definetly been worth me spending £600.00,just to make you look like a yummy mummy to be."

Claire then said "congrats on your happy news hun and i'm so pleased for you,do you mind me telling Ro the good news tonight?."

Sarah then said "no hun of course i don't mind you telling Ro that i'm pregnant,and thanks again for today."

As they were heading to the car park Sarah looked at Claire,and said "hun i reckon that you and Ro,will be the next one's to have a baby."

Claire didn't answer Sarah back,she knew that she wouldn't be able to keep her secret that way for much longer and especially not from Ronan.

Meanwhile at the football club's ground the lads were now changed,and were making their way back to the girls.

Grace,Erin,Bronwyn,Creena and Lindsay were sat on the grass waiting for the guys,when they saw a small blonde haired girl walk into the ground.

The girls noticed that the blonde girl who had just come into the ground,had her hand on her stomach and they immediately knew that she's pregnant.

The small blonde walked over to the 5 girls and said "erm hi sorry to bother you,i'm just wondering if you've seen a tall blond haired lad?."

Creena,Erin,Grace,Bronwyn and Lindsay then in unison said "yeah we've a saw tall blond haired lad,he went into the changing rooms a few minutes ago."

The girl then said "thanks girls for that information and have you seen a short blond guy with the lanky sod?."

Erin then said "yeah we've seen both lads they are getting changed they shouldn't be too much longer."

Grace's heart sank when she'd heard the girl ask about Nicky,and automatically assumed she was his girl.

Sophie had seen the look in Grace's eyes and said "nah you've got it wrong i'm not Nicky's girl,i'm his sister and my name is Sophie."

Erin then said "hi Sophie i'm Erin this is my twin sister Bronwyn,and this is my cousin Lindsay."

Grace then said "hi Sophie my name is Grace,and this is Creena we're just waiting for our brothers,boyfriends and cousins."

Sophie then said "ah you girls must be with the Sligo Rovers team,i wanted to watch the match but couldn't get away from work."

ok guys sorry there hasn't been any updates to my fics for a while but early hours of last friday morning i was rushed into hospital with very high blood presure and i've been in hospital all week up until 2 hours ago and my daft fiance thought he'd lost all my fics

i'll update in a couple of days i'm still sorting my fics out so i can actually access them because my wonderful finace removed somethings from the laptop including word pad and all my fics are now sat on my laptop's notepad and need to be rearranged into some kind of readable order lmao

He's not good with computers, isn't he?

lol he was half asleep when he was pratting about removing things from my laptop while i was in hospital
